Funeral services for Jesse Grover Burke, 58, of McRoberts, were held February 14 at Moore’s Chapel Church. Burial was in the McRoberts Cemetery.
Born at Etty, he was a son of the late Hatton and Marie Bentley Burke, and a brother of the late Brenda Tompkins. He died February 10 at Bristol Regional Medical Center in Tennessee .
He was a graduate of Fleming-Neon High School and a 23-year veteran of the U.S. Army. He worked in and around the coal mines as an electrician and repairman, and was an honorary Kentucky Colonel.
Surviving are his wife, Dillie Burke; a daughter, Lisa Burke, McRoberts; two sons, Mikie Burke and J.R. Burke, both of McRoberts; two grandchildren, Windy and Taylor; a sister, Nancy R. Fouts Burke, Potters Fork; three brothers, Lenville Burke, Brookwood, Ala., Granville Burke, Craft’s Colly, and Ernie Burke, Lexington; and a nephew, Jamie Fouts.
Carty Funeral Home had charge of arrangements.
