Whitesburg attorney Darrell Hall is the second official candidate for the election to the office of Letcher Circuit Judge.
Hall joins fellow attorney James W. Craft II in seeking the term of office left vacant when former circuit judge Sam Wright was elected to serve on the Kentucky Supreme Court.
Hall filed his candidacy paper with the Secretary of State’s office in Frankfort on January 13, a week after Craft filed his.
Hall received his undergraduate degree from the University of Kentucky in 1974 and his law degree from the University of Kentucky School of Law in 1981. He has worked as a public defender in Letcher Circuit Court and as an Assistant Commonwealth’s Attorney in Letcher, Knott, and Magoffin counties. Hall has been the attorney for the Letcher County Board of Education since 2000.
Hall lives in Whitesburg with his wife of 30 years, Nyoka, a retired high school guidance counselor, and their son, Cliff.
