Keastan Hall of Letcher County has been selected to attend The Center for Rural Development’s Rogers Scholars youth leadership program this summer.
Hall, a sophomore at Letcher County High School, will join high school students from across southern and eastern Kentucky for the leadership training program. He was chosen from a record 336 applicants to participate in the 2011 Rogers Scholars program, and will be eligible for scholarship offers from 15 participating colleges and universities in Kentucky and Tennessee.
The Center, a nonprofit organization in Somerset, invites rising high school juniors from within its 42- county primary service area to become Rogers Scholars. The Center’s flagship youth program emphasizes the development of technological skills, leadership, entrepreneurship, and a commitment to rural Kentucky. Tyme to play
