The monthly electric bill arrived and with much joy we report that the amount due is $105 and some change. That is our least amount owed in history. Needless to say we are thrilled. We know, however, things are about to change. Winter is quickly bearing down on us. We are optimistic.
Thanks to all who support us and help the center to stay open by purchasing food and drink from us. You are helping us to do what we do. Your support means the difference in keeping Hemphill Center open or not. The business as Black Sheep Bakery pays all the monthly bills, the solar panel payment, and pays for all the activities that happen at the center. There is no other funding source. We are thankful for those who spend their money with us.
We are also thankful for the catering we did over the weekend. Thanks, as always, for choosing us to do your food for special events and celebrations.
We have Halloween Fright Nite Dinner Contest running now. Go on the Black Sheep Facebook account to find out details.
Friday Nite Supper Club: There is a 30-minute break in between usually from 7:45 to 8:15. The featured musicians play two 45-minute sets starting at 7 p.m. and ending at 9 p.m. and play a variety of genres. Aspiring musicians and veteran musicians are always welcome to show up and perform. It’s always fun to play or listen. There is no cover charge so it’s always a laidback, easy crowd to play for. Come join us in supporting local live music by local singer/picker/songwriters while dining on good Black Sheep Brick Oven Bakery foods.
We decided to place our unsold bread outside in coolers on Saturday mornings for folks to take. It will be left on the outside stage until a more suitable arrangement can be made to dispense it. This preservative free bread will not last long in this heat. We hope folks come and take it on Saturdays before it sits too long in the heat. It will keep almost a week at room temperature. It will feed the belly and feed the soul. If you are hungry, show up early so you can get a loaf. We want you to have first pick.
