Hammondses marking anniversary

Big Cowan

Hello everyone! Hoping all are having a great week. Loving this weather, though sometimes pretty chilly at night.

Sorry to hear of another great lady on Cowan dying, who was also one of my cousins. Wanda Fay Standifer Day died on Thursday, Sept. 12. She was a daughter of the late Sabre Fields Standifer and Hobert Standifer, and was married to John Q. Day.

They had two sons, Randy John Day of Whitesburg and Rodney lee Day of Columbus, Oh. She is also survived by two brothers, Jack Standifer of Whitesburg, and Hiram Standifer of Topeka, Ks.; a sister, Peggy Bentley of Colson; six grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by both parents and a sister, Julie. My sympathy goes out to all of the family.

Late happy birthday to Greta Fields Wilson and Maci Huer on Sept. 14.

Happy birthday to Willis King, Monica McIntosh and Billy Ray Blair on Sept. 18.

In memory of this week: Jeff Caudill died a year ago on Sept. 18; Fred Boggs Jr. died two years ago on Sept. 18; and Tommy Day would have been 66 on Sept. 18. They are missed by all who knew them.

Happy birthday to Marvin Taylor on Sept. 19, and Frieda Boggs Johnson and Rosa Halcomb, both on Sept. 20. May all of you have a wonderful day.

And two of my friends in Greensburg, Ind., Sis Inelda Seaman and Glenda Moats, may you ladies have a wonderful day on Sept. 20. Love and miss you.

Happy birthday to Kendall Ison on Sept. 21, and Tammy Turner (I think hers is on Sept. 21). Have a great day.

Audrey and Charles Hammonds will be married 17 years on Sept. 23. Happy anniversary.

My brother Archie had a good birthday on Sept. 12, and my brother-in-law, Eddie Wolfe, also had a good day on Sept. 15.

Prayer list this week: John Q. Day family, Dorothy Jean Miles, Archie and Margaret Fields, Kathy Wolfe, Astor Fields Jr., Frank Sturgill, Doug Sturgill and Dana Sturgill.

Well folks, time to go. Will catch you all later.

Have a good week until next time.
