Hamptons celebrate 30th wedding anniversary

My sympathy to the family of Diane Johnson of Knott County. She died on March 23. She had colon cancer and was in Hazard Appalachian Regional Hospital.

Happy birthday to Ray Caughlin of Elk Creek. It is on April 1.

Happy anniversary to Jeff and Kay Hampton of London. It’s their 30th and it’s on April 1. Jeff is the son of Jean Hampton of Letcher, and Kay is the daughter of Mae Fugate of Carcassonne.

Happy birthday to Dustin Caudill of Carbon Glow. It was on March 31.

There was a Princess party held on Saturday at the Carcassonne Community Center for Taylor Henrikson. She will be 4 on April 8. She is the daughter of Jonny and Karen Henrikson. She has a older sister, Takoa, and mom Karen is pregnant with a baby boy. Taylor is the granddaughter of Jon and Loretta Henrikson of Carcassonne, and Wayne and Freda Bailey of Isom.

Happy birthday to Chloe Smith of Letcher. She turned 12 on March 25. She is the daughter of Beau and Shelly Smith and the granddaughter of Jr. Adams and Joe and Shannon Smith.

Congratulations to Pam Whitaker and Josh Maggard of Carcassonne on the birth of their son. Joshua Billy Jayden Maggard was born on March 25; he weighed 6 pounds, 14 ounces.

Virgil Combs of Carcassonne had to be taken by ambulance to the WARH last week. He was weak and his breathing got really bad. I wish him the best.

Happy birthday to Callie Fugate Bates of Blackey. It is on April 6.

Junior Wagner of Red Star has been having chest pains for about a week now. He is supposed to go to Pikeville for some tests.

There will be a fund-raising pancake breakfast held at the Blackey Missionary Baptist Church on Saturday, April 12, from 8 a.m. till 12 p.m. The cost is $5 for adults and $3 for children under 12. The proceeds will go for things needed for the church.

I was talked to Clara Riley of Red Star Friday. She said her husband, Clell, had recently found out he has stomach cancer. He was going to Lexington to see a doctor. I hope everything turns out OK for him.
