Happy New Year to everyone. Hoping this will be a wonderful year for all of us.

So much has happened in the last few months it is hard to go back and catch up on everything. So many of you were so good and kind to me and prayerful for our family during the sickness and death of my wonderful husband. I appreciate all of you.

I received a call from Reniva Roark Day, formerly of Kingscreek and wife of the late Kelly Day. Good hearing from her and glad to get a letter from Ella V. Preston and glad to see a picture of her and one of her firstto third-grade students at Little Cowan in The Mountain Eagle. She was also my first- to third-grade teacher at Upper Cowan. She still looks good for a young lady in her 90s.

So sorry to hear that Eugene Day died in Indiana. He was 90 years old. He was married to the late Nezaline Maggard Day and she died in 2012. They both were real sweet people and will be missed by all who knew them.

Late happy birthdays to all those in October, November and December. Sorry I hadn’t been writing for awhile and missed them.

My brother Archie Ray Fields is doing fair. Kathy and Eddie Wolfe are doing OK.

So sorry to hear about Margie “Granny” Sturgill dying. She had a big family and I know they are missing her terribly. My sympathy goes out to the family.

I can’t think of much to write about at this time. Maybe I will have more later. May God bless all of you this year and keep you safe.

Late happy birthday to my sister-in-law Margaret Pack Fields on Dec. 29 and a later happy anniversary to Margaret and Archie on Jan. 1. They have been married 23 years. May they have many more.
