Hello everyone. I hope you are all doing well. This has been a busy, but a very good week.
My son Rob Hatton has been in for a visit. He spent two days with me, then he went the Bristol races with all his brothers, Astor, Bill and Larry, and I know they enjoyed it. This was the first time in a few years they all went together.
Billy had a birthday party last week, and it was a great party with all his children and grandchildren and lots of family. Attending were Mike and Betty Cook and their son Dr. Heath Cook and wife Lorie and their son; Earnestine and Billy Franks and their children; and Dickie and Diane Adams.
I’d better quit calling names right now, or I’ll leave out a bunch. There were a lot of people there, and I enjoyed seeing all of them. I’d better mention Betty Cook, the other grandmother of all those beautiful babies. There was lots of great food, too.
Bro. Conard Profitt has been having his 37th homecoming at his church, Calvary Temple. Bro. Billy Conn was the evangelist, and Linda Gibson was the featured singer on Friday night. It went really well; the house was packed out. I enjoyed the service and also seeing all of the people.
I always sit with Evelyn Caudill, Annabelle Evans and Shelby Jean (I can’t remember her last name). I do remember that she is a great singer and musician. A lot of other churches attended. I like it when they all come together.
I went to the funeral of Raymond McCool. His family were longtime friends. Our sympathy goes out to his mother, Frieda, and all of the family, and also to the family of Willamae Boggs.
I’ve been visiting Letcher Manor as often as I can. There are a lot of my friends there, especially Earl Profitt. His wife, Juanita, stays all day with him, and his daughter, Doris Miller, stays all night.
He had a niece and her husband visiting on Saturday. She is the daughter of Louvena and James Williams, who was the pastor of the Whitesburg Church of God a long time ago!
I really appreciate all you people who tell me you enjoy my news. I think that you are just being nice, but it sounds good. It’s hard to get news when not much is going on.
I’m liking our new road, when I can get used to it better. I think it will help our traffic jams. They can be bad at times.
We had a baptizing at our church last Sunday, Michael Isom, and we are pleased to have him. His family have been friends of ours for a long time.
I’m expecting my son Rob home from the races soon, and I’m hoping he can stay for a visit. I love having my boys around.
May God bless all of you. Try to go to church somewhere this week if you are able.
