Hello everyone, hope things are going well for all of you.
I suppose you know about my husband Clyde’s passing. Thanks to everyone saying we were in their prayers. It certainly helped. Thanks, Emma Lou and Rose Ballard, for letting me know I was in your thoughts and prayers.
I was pleased to see Clyde’s hunting buddies at the funeral, B.F. Adams, Billy Eugene Smith, Dennis “Red Man” Yonts and is brother Curt Yonts, and Vernon and Billy Thomas, and of course Annabel Wright, who always made Clyde laugh, and too many good friends to mention, but you were certainly appreciated.
The funeral was carried out beautifully. Jerome Hatton and Larry Everidge and their staff did a wonderful job and I really appreciated it.
We saw Kelsey Day and his wife at Pine Mountain Grill. He said his son Lee had returned from Iraq. We are all thankful for that. I can’t remember if it was his fourth or fifth tour of duty.
We are pleased that Sonia Fields seems to be doing well after her surgery. She is a great help to our church.
I’m so glad Elzie Ray Hatton came in. I called him and he came in the next morning from Tennessee. He is a good friend and cousin.
I was glad my good friend Roberta got to come in. We were planning on the Howard reunion and it turned out to be a funeral instead. We never know, do we? It was good that all the family were already here. We can have a reunion at another time.
I was pleased my son Rob got to spend 10 days with me. We enjoyed being together. I hated to see him leave, but he sure made a bad time a lot better. Our whole family got to spend a lot of time together. It was good having my granddaughter Kathy Nelson and her daughter Caroline in from Alabama. They stayed in my trailer next door, so we had a good visit.
I’ve got to get back down soon to the Veterans Center. I made some good friends there. I’m also hoping to get down to see Sara and Clarence Ison.
I just found out my good friend Tommie Baker is sick. I have go to see about her.
With Clyde being so sick, I haven’t gotten to visit my friends and I am going to try to get up soon to the Ermine Center. I’m glad Lizzie Wright has been letting us know what they have been doing. I saw Jim Craft at the funeral and talked to him.
How about this weather change? I had air conditioning one day and heat the next, and the leaves are all falling. I hope enough of them stay on to change colors. That’s my favorite time of year.
I hope Pearl Noble is doing OK. Her sisters Dorthy Tackett and Linda Hall looked pitiful at the funeral without her. They are usually all three together.
My news is short where I haven’t been able to be out and about and keeping up with everyone. I hope to be able to see all my friends more when things settle down.
May God bless all of you. Try to be in church somewhere this week.
