Hello everyone, hope you are all doing well.

I’ve had a good week. My son Rob came for a weekend visit and we went to visit the cemeteries of my mom and dad, my brother Eddie Howard, my grandmother Maggie Fields and others, and the American Legion Cemetery on Pine Mountain. Rob, Bill Hatton and I went.

It was good seeing all the Trents there. We always meet there every year. They live in Indiana.

Rob’s daughter Rocki and husband Matt Hill and their children Elise and Daniel live in Lexington and we all went to Pine Mountain Grill for lunch. We got to see a lot of old friends there and of course we enjoyed that.

Rob left, going home to Owensboro and I miss him already. We never run out of words. Larry and Linda came down and visited with us and we had a good time. Now it’s just me and “Suzy” and she is good company. Whitesburg

I got a call from Iva Cheatham Absher today. She’s one of our Marlowe people and we have a lot to talk about. I like hearing from her and from all my friends and also Glendora Eldridge in Indiana. I saw her picture in Bennett Welch’s news when she was in Whitesburg High School a long time ago. I’ll send it to you in case you didn’t see it.

We had a wedding this weekend and I didn’t get to go, Chris Tyree, son of Randy and Missy Tyree. I’ll find out all about it from my sister Betty Tyree. He’s her grandson. Maybe I will get a picture.

I got a call from Ruby Howard in Indiana. She is having health problems and I hope she is doing better. She tries to take care of herself and that’s good. So many people don’t.

I’m sorry I missed a call from Gladys Smith in Bolivia, N.C. I love hearing from her. She used to write for The Mountain Eagle.

I enjoyed reading about Rose Ballard’s old things, water bucket and dipper, old coffee pot, tea kettle, cast iron pot and Dutch oven, old churn she used 50 years ago. I had all those and much older ones since I am so much older than Rose. I was glad to get newer things and I was glad to get rid of my old stuff. I gave it to anyone that wanted it. Now I wish I had it. I don’t know where I could put it.

Betty Tyree said she went to the wedding of her grandson Chris Tyree and she said it was so beautiful! I couldn’t get away. I would have loved being there. Maybe I can see pictures and maybe get one to put in the paper. I heard they had a lot of rain, but she said everyone enjoyed it and a large crowd was there. I wish them the very best. I’ve never met the bride, but I’ve only seen Chris a couple of times and I like him a lot.

I called Alberta Barker to ask about her husband Jerry and she said he was doing better and I was glad. They are my good friends. She said she had seen her older brother, Willie Hatton, and he was doing well. I didn’t know him. I’m not sure where he lived.

Well, I guess I’d better hush.

Hello, Elzie Ray and Irene Hatton in Tennessee. I hope they are doing well.

May God bless all of you. Try to be in church somewhere if you are able.
