Hazard Community and Technical College’s commencement exercises are set for Saturday, May 14, at The Forum in the Hal Roger’s Center. The college will hold ceremonies at 10 a.m. and 2 p.m.
Eight hundred and twenty two students will receive 1,659 credentials this spring, a record number at the college; associate in arts, associate in science, and associate in applied science degrees will be awarded along with diplomas and certificates.
The speaker for the morning ceremony will be Tina May of HCTC’s Kentucky School of Bluegrass and Traditional Music; Brandy Smith of HCTC’s nursing program will be the afternoon speaker.
The City of Hazard will provide free trolley service beginning at 8 a.m. The trolley take those who park near the Hazard High School football field to The Forum entrance. Because a large crowd is expected, an overflow room will be set up in the adjacent Rural Law Enforcement Training Center.
The public is invited to both events.
