Under the Affordable Care Act, the new healthcare law, many uninsured Kentuckians will qualify for Medicaid, which is free of charge, or tax credits from the government to help pay health insurance premiums.
Beginning Oct. 1, all Kentuckians can buy health coverage through Kynect. Kynect can help individuals and small businesses find coverage, even if a person was denied coverage before or could not afford it. Coverage can begin as early as January 1. Open enrollment ends March 31.
Kynect will also check for low-cost or free coverage through Medicaid and the Kentucky Children’s Health Insurance Program.
