Hello everyone. Hope you are all doing well.
We’ve sure been getting a lot of rain. For awhile we weren’t getting any. Some places still need rain. I talked to my son Rob in Owensboro, and he said the farmers need rain badly.
It was good hearing from my friend Anna Watkins in Florida. She said they had been having flooding. I love talking with her. She was such a good neighbor over 50 years ago.
We are all so proud of Mable Absher and Geneva (Adams) Sturgill for all the work they did making quilts for the tornado victims. I’m sure they will appreciate them. That was such a thoughtful thing to do.
My sister Betty Tyree and I had a good time breaking up beans the other day. We wanted to help out my daughter- in- law, Linda Hatton. She works so hard on her garden, especially working five days a week at Walmart. But she loves it and is a real good gardener.
I don’t have much to write about this week. I went to the Save-A-Lot store the other evening. It was late and the only person I knew was Jeremiah Fields, one of our church boys. It was good seeing him, and of course he was smiling, as usual.
I went to Letcher Manor to visit Aggie Hatton and also saw Patty Majority. She was on her way to eat lunch. She looked good.
I also went down to see Charlie Hatton. He was gone to see his doctor. I did see Denny Ray and Delana, his son and daughter.
Charlie is not doing well. He and his wife Aggie need everyone’s prayers.
Christine Fields, I’m sure glad you and your husband enjoyed your visit with Glen and Dorothy Jean Miles. I love going there, although I haven’t been there in awhile.
I don’t know what goes with my time. I certainly don’t get much done. I can’t seem to get around to it. Never do today what you can do tomorrow. That’s not the way it goes, is it?
I enjoyed eating lunch at Pine Mountain Grill with my granddaughter, Wendy, and her husband Kevin Day and their sons Rocky and Larry Kevin. Congratulations to Wendy for getting a big promotion in her job in Prestonsburg. She was pleased and so is all her family. She has worked hard and loves what she is doing, helping people. We are so proud of her!
My son Billy Hatton and wife Sandra and some of their family went to their lake house this past weekend. They always enjoy that. Some of my brothers and sister were at the lake also. I guess I am a stay-at-home person. I just don’t like going.
Am I getting old or something? Nah. I’m just laid back and contented.
Sunday was a good day. Good Sunday School and great services Sunday evening.
We had a large crowd and it was so good to see Shirley Niece. She has been so sick and hasn’t been able to be there. She was glad to get to go, and everyone was glad to see her. She has been a faithful member for many years. She’s a great singer, and she and her husband, Carfa Niece, and their daughter, Kathy Adams, were the ‘Niece Family Singers’ and sang for so many funerals and for church singers everywhere.
May God bless all of you. Try to be in church somewhere this week.
Elzie Ray Hatton and wife Irene, I hope you are doing well and having a good garden. Don’t work too hard!
