Helen Cooper spends Christmas at home


Georgia and Bobby Phillips entertained several Order of Eastern Star members and others at a Christmas party in December. Those present were Dr. Sharon Colton, Bob Hampton, Arius and Sue Holbrook, Charles and Shirley Day, Carol Cook, Nancy Ratliff, Allison Holbrook, and Wilma Short.

Everyone enjoyed eating, playing games, singing, and being entertained by Bobby Hampton’s ‘picking and grinning.’

Yvonne Sutphin was the featured artist at the Beyond These Hills Gallery in Lynchburg, Va., Dec. 3.

Happy eighth birthday Jan. 2 to Kylie Grace Cornett. She is Christina Crawford’s daughter, and Regina and Robby Crawford’s granddaughter.

Ramona, Michael, Forrester and Callie of Louisville; Regina, Robert Bennett, Christina and husband Steve Bolton, Kylie and Jacob, of Berea; David and Jennifer Combs and Steve, Brenda, Jessica and Shade all had a Christmas holiday at Bennett and Linda Combs’s. They all had a good time.

Linda Brown Combs and Yvonne Brown Sutphin are granddaughters of Siller Brown, former Mountain Eagle correspondent.

Sympathy to Sara Ison and family on the death of her husband Clarence, and to all others who have lost loved ones.

Arminta Ison Jenkins has been visiting her sister Dana Walker in Naples, Fla., For the past month. She plans to return to Dallas this week.

Congratulations to Miranda Bentley, who was named Employee of the Year at Letcher Manor for her exemplary work. Belated happy birthday wishes to Miranda on Dec. 31.

We are thankful that Helen Cooper was able to come home for Christmas. We still need to pray for her continued recovery.
