Hello all! I had a moment to sit down and write so I figured I better get to it. I hope this finds each of you in good health.
Michael, Dalton and I are doing fine, but my oldest, Bailey, hasn’t been feeling too great. He has had a stomach bug. I pray he is feeling better soon. I can’t stand to see my baby sick. Be sure not to tell him I called him my baby. He is ‘too old’ for that now’ — or at least that is what he says.
How was your weekend? Ours went well, even though we had so much dreary weather. Michael had to work on Saturday, but the boys and I went over to Carr Creek Lake and sat around with my sister, Missy Fields, and her family while they were camping. Mom and Dad, Allen and Sylvania Whitaker, came to visit for a while as well. Missy’s youngest, Lexi, caught her very first fish this weekend. She was so excited that she was saying, “I caught a fish, oh yea, oh yea, I caught a fish, WOOHOO.”
As always, I ask you to pray for my mom. She has been having a lot of pain after dialysis here lately, and I am so worried about her. But I’m forever hopeful that another transplant isn’t far off .
Grandma, Lucy Halcomb Blair, and my uncle, Charles E. Blair, also need your prayers. Neither of them have been feeling too well.
Edna Helton and her husband, Jr., are supposed to be in from Indianapolis this week. The entire family will be glad to see them, but Mom and Grandma, especially.
Hazel Blair died four years ago on May 16. She was my mom’s sister and a very special lady. We miss her greatly.
My sister, Opal Jent, said that Virgil Combs and Jake Halcomb were both doing well enough to be able to attend church at Bull Creek this weekend.
I passed Junie Whitaker here on the ‘holler’ this past Friday and he had his son, Ashton Skylar, with him. Ashton is such a precious little angel. I just want to kiss his cheeks every time I see him. Junie and I only had a moment to talk, but it was nice to catch up some.
Danna Smith and family traveled to Abbeville, S.C. the weekend before last for the wedding of her niece, Crystal Yonts.
B.J. Adams, son of J.R. Adams, was in a car accident on Friday, May 14. He hurt his leg and was in a lot of pain, but thankfully he is home now.
Krystal Fleming Albers and kids visited Letcher County this weekend. I bet Ila (Adams) and the family were tickled pink. I wish I had the chance to visit with her. However, it seems every time she is in I already have plans. Hopefully, next time.
I would like to send out belated happy birthday wishes to Peggy Whitaker on May 5 and Stephanie Blair on May 10. Mattie Adams will celebrate her birthday on May 24, and Nathan Ingram on May 25. I hope your special day is filled with all the love and laughter in the world.
Fred and Cyra Whitaker celebrated their wedding anniversary on May 17. I hope they had a wonderful anniversary and have many more love-filled years together!
If I have left anyone or anything out, just let me know and I will be glad you get you next time. I hope everyone has a healthy and happy week. If you would like to contact me, feel free to call me or you may email me at: alanacouch@tvscable. com.
