Halloween Safe Night will be held on Halloween Night as always. Neighbors and community partners/ businesses/agencies are invited to be with us. Venders should be there by 4 to 5 p.m. Candidates, elected officials, and businesses are encouraged to come treat our little ones. Parents/ guardians should bring the children from 5 to 8 p.m. The event will be held rain or shine! Everyone is welcome!

There is a rumor that there is no longer music at Hemphill Community Center on Friday nights. There is indeed music each Friday night. Some of the very best pick for us each week. Come see for yourself on Friday at 7 p.m..

Watch the Black Sheep Facebook page for new offerings and products. We have new Black Sheep t-shirts and aprons for sale. They would make great Christmas gifts. The slogan on the back of the shirt says “Wood fired hearth and soul”. T-shirts are $20 for S-2LX and $22 for 3XL. Two pocket aprons are $18.

We have had the Halloween Fright Nite Dinner Contest running for a month. Robyn Jones was the winner. Congratulations, Robyn, and thanks to all who participated.

Friday Nite Supper Club: There is a 30-minute break in between usually from 7:45-8:15. The featured musicians play two 45-minute sets starting at 7 p.m. and ending at 9 p.m. and play a variety of genres. Aspiring musicians and veteran musicians are always welcome to show up and perform. It’s always fun to play or listen. There is no cover charge so it’s always a laidback easy crowd to play for. Come join us in supporting local live music by local singer/picker/ songwriters while dining on good Black Sheep Brick Oven Bakery foods. We have some really great acts lined up through the end of the year. Dancing and singing along is encouraged.

We decided to place our unsold bread outside in coolers on Saturdays at noon for folks to take. It will be left on the outside stage until a more suitable arrangement can be made to dispense it. This preservative-free bread is delicious. We hope folks come and take it on Saturdays. It will keep almost a week at room temperature. It will feed the belly and feed the soul. If you are hungry show up early so you can get a loaf. We want you to have first pick.

Very Important Note: John Ng’s Four Seasons Martial Arts will be meeting henceforth till further notice to Sunday evenings 5 p.m. Master Frank Sexton, instructor.

Narcotics Anonymous (NA) meetings are being held at Hemphill Community Center. We are proud to host these meeting for those on the recovery road. Meetings are Wednesdays at 6 p.m. and Sundays at 6 p.m. weekly. All are welcome.

You have an open invitation to come and hang out with us at the Center when you can. We have Wi-Fi now so kids and adults are better satisfied not being cut off from their electronic devices. We also have a playground and a walking track so bring the whole family for a visit. Regardless of differences in education, age, sexual orientation, gender identity, race, or perceived differences, all are welcome and will be treated with justice and friendship. It’s a hate-free zone and you are invited!! Come and linger among friends!!!
