Check out our Facebook page for announcements and pictures posted after each time when the seniors meet. Good fun, good company, and a good lunch are a guarantee. Don’t sit home alone. This takes place each Tuesday. You will be as welcome as spring flowers.
On June 1, we will launch the Hemphill Community Center Catering Company. We plan to operate the catering of events from our commercial kitchen at the center. We have experienced caterers and bakers on board so it promises to be a great thing.
We already cater for several organizations around the area. Your event can be catered to another location or you can schedule your event at our facility. Our facility seats up to 120 people. We have been told we are “the best kept secret around.” Comments like this encouraged us to go public with our talents. Proceeds will help fund our outreach, efforts, and community events. More on this later.
The Senior Fellowship continues each Tuesday at 10 a.m. Some of the participants are volunteering to help out during this event and we really appreciate this. It seems the seniors have really taken ownership of this event and it is growing. The participation is outgrowing what it was in the past. All seem to enjoy it immensely.
Friday Nite Pickin’ is always fun and this past week was no exception. We enjoyed our visitors from all over. We had folks from Cave Run, and lots of folks from southwestern Virginia as well as folks from the surrounding counties. It was a blast. Sunrise Ridge did an awesome job. Thanks for the generous donations of various foods for our concessions. We even had polk salad cakes and soup beans. Yum! Thanks to our radio celebrities who frequent our place. We’d love seeing you too!
