High waters bring another scare to community

A LOW WATER BRIDGE at Perkins Branch at Jeremiah nearly washed away Monday night after culverts became clogged with debris. The county has voted to buy a steel bridge to replace the temporary low water crossing, which was built after the bridge into the community collapsed because of flooding this spring. Pictured, Judge/Executive Jim Ward used an backhoe to clear debris from the culverts. (Photo by Sam Adams)
