Hindman Settlement School to host Folk Week June 9-15

Raymond W. McLain and harmonica player Mike Stevens will headline Hindman Settlement School’s 36th Annual Appalachian Family Folk Week from June 9-15. McLain grew up in Hindman and directs the Kentucky Center for Traditional Music at Morehead State University. Stevens received the Canadian Folk Music Awards “Innovator of the Year” award in 2012.

These two, along with several others, will be sharing their talents during the weeklong celebration of traditional music, crafts, storytelling and folk dancing.

Folk Week features traditional music and dance programs each evening at the May Stone Building on the Settlement’s campus. All evening programs are free and open to the public.
