— Danny Keith Banks, a certified rehabilitation counselor with the Whitesburg Office of Vocational Rehabilitation of the Kentucky Education & Workforce Development Cabinet, received the 2012 Governor’s Ambassador Award for Professional Achievement. He has worked with more than 350 people with disabilities and is credited with influencing change in vocational rehabilitation policies and procedures and advocating for positive, comprehensive change. He is a graduate of Whitesburg High School and holds a master’s degree from the University of Kentucky. Banks lives at Craft’s Colly with his wife, Lana, and two children, Tayler, 8, and Emma Leigh, 6.
