Hello everyone, hope you are all doing well. I’m trying to write my news, but I don’t think I’ll be able to get out because of all the snow. If not, you will see it next week.

I haven’t been off my hill in over a week. I’ve been on the phone a lot, checking on everyone and also been eating way too much!

I was so sorry to hear of one of our Marlowe girls dying in Bloomington, Ind., Eileen Banks, 93 years old. She was the daughter of the late Nellie and Maynard Banks of Bloomington, Ind. She was born in Cumberland, and they moved to Marlowe when she was a small child. She had a brother, Bobby Gene, while they lived there. The family moved to Indiana and had other children and we kept in touch with them.

Nellie has a sister here, Betty Sue Anderson, who lives in Craft’s Colly. She called me and we had a long talk. She’s a good friend and we used to make soap together. She was able to go to the funeral.

Our sympathy goes out to all the family and to all the family of Ralph Collier. He went to high school with my son Rob. He and his wife Rosa came to the Ermine Senior Citizens Center when he was able and they were real friendly people.

Billy and Sandra Hatton are pictured with their nephew, Daniel Hill, son of Rocky and Matt Hill.

Our sympathy goes out to Hazel Quillen’s family also. Everyone knew her and her late husband Cossie Quillen, who had Quillen Drugstore for many years.

A late happy wedding anniversary to Shannon and Lloyd Mullins on Jan. 22. Shannon had knee surgery and we are glad she’s doing well. I listen to Lloyd on the radio when he fills in for his pastor, Bro. Tony Brown.

I think this is the coldest weather I can remember and they are still giving more snow.

I’ve sure missed church. We may have to introduce each other when we get back.

We have so many folks that really need prayer. My sister Kathleen Brock had surgery and she is in a lot of pain. Also, my cousin Dorthy Miles is in Hazard Hospital and her brother Paul David and their dad Glen Miles both have the flu. I understand lots of folks have it. Pray for all of them. It’s hard for family to visit them.

I got a call from my friend Anna Watkins in Florida. She said it’s cold there. I hope it gets warmer there, three of my brothers are going there on Feb. 2 to visit our brother Hillard and wife Marsha. I think they are going to stay three days. They will do a lot of talking! Poor Marsha! She may have to leave!

I just heard Richard Lucas died. I’ve know him all of my life. His family were Marlowe people. We seem to be losing a lot of them. Richard had lived on Cowan for a long time. Our sympathy surely goes out to all his family.

Happy birthday to Alma Caudill of Cowan. I called her to tell her hello and we had a long talk. I enjoyed talking to her. I’ve know her for a long time. They were having a party for her at Pine Mountain Grill on Saturday evening. I’m sure they enjoyed it. I didn’t know her age until she told me and she certainly doesn’t look it, but she’s not as old as me. She is a sweet lady! My son Billy and wife Sandra went to the party. They are part of the family.

May God bless all of you. Try to be in church if the weather isn’t too bad.
