Hello everyone, hope you are all doing well and keeping warm.
I think winter is catching up with us. I’ve not been getting out much. I go to Food City pretty often just to see people and most of the time I see Janice Foster. We can always find plenty to talk about. She’s a good friend and I’m always glad to see her. People just don’t visit much anymore.
I ran into some of Earl King’s family the other day, may have been his daughters. I hadn’t seen them in a very long time. They said Earl wasn’t doing well. I loved the King family. They were Marlowe people who still like to live close like me.
Larry Kevin ‘LKD’ Day had a birthday a few days ago. Can you believe he is 21 years old? I heard he got a new puppy. It will have a good home. Larry takes good care of his animals.
I love dogs too, but I won’t get one. I don’t like losing them. I have cats that came to me. I feed them and take care of them. They stay outside. I maybe pet them a little, call them K Cats and they don’t mind. I think they like me. They never leave.
I haven’t heard much from anyone this week. I guess they are getting ready for Christmas.
Lloyd Mullins, I’ve been listening to you every morning on the radio. I appreciated you calling my name the other day. I have enjoyed hearing you.
There are a lot of good things to hear if you want to hear them. I’m interested in a lot of things and some things I just plain don’t like. I guess I’m out of style.
Like my mom used to say “born 30 years too soon”. I remember so many of her sayings and now they make a lot of sense. I’d like to be like her. She was my best friend all those years and we went everywhere together. She was only 16 years older than me. We had children the same age and we always lived close, next door a long time. We never lived far apart. I still miss her.
I’m having company today. My little great-grandpuppy Macie is spending today with me. Her family is Christmas shopping. She is so sweet. I love having her. She is good!
We had our Howard Christmas party last night at Cowan Community Center. It went really well, a large crowd. There are a lot of us and most of us were there and of course lots of food, lots of talking and getting to see lots of the family we hadn’t seen in a long time and some we had never seen. It was one of our biggest I think.
Of course we missed the ones we lost that were here last year. We never know about tomorrow. They were on our minds. Their children and grandchildren were there.
The weather has been so good, but it is supposed to change to some flurries today. I hope it’s just flurries and not a snow for us. Astor and Rosemary left this morning. I hope they don’t run into bad weather.
May God bless all of you and I hope if you are able try to be in a good church somewhere today.
