Hello everyone, hope you are all doing well.
We had bad news this week with all the tornadoes. It was so scary and our hopes and prayers are for those who were hit so hard. It was so widespread, and we all had families and friends in all those places.
We have had some very good weather, but this is March.
Linda (Pennington) Hall gave an Eagle to one of her cousins, and she is going to start getting it so she can get to keep up with everyone here. If I get the news, I will certainly pass it on. I tell it all!
Linda also got a call from her nephew, Ronnie Dale Pennington. I remember him; he is the son of the late Murphy Pennington. The Pennington girls are good to give me the news. I appreciate them.
My brother, John Howard of Jenkins, has his grandson, Christian Howard of Indianapolis, in visiting him, and he’s enjoying it.
My brothe,r Hillard Howard, and wife Marsha have been in for the funeral of their good friend, Frank Justice of Pikeville. He came and visited with us at Howard’s Carpet Store, and tried to get to see all of us. We had Charles, of course, and Jack Howard, Hubert Howard, John Howard, and Hillard Howard, Bobby Ray Howard was working.
It was good to have our five brothers, Kathleen Brock and husband Bro. Earnest Brock and myself all there together. Louise Shepherd came after she got off work.
We didn’t want to leave and eat lunch, so we had Lee’s chicken and biscuits and had a real good time. We always do when we can get together, but it’s hard when they are all scattered.
Pam Gardner of Norton, Va., came over to visit her mom, Louise Shepherd, and Carol Day. They had lunch at Pine Mountain Grill and enjoyed the day.
Cram Creek Church, where Bro. Earnest Brock is pastor, is having a 30-day revival, which began on March 4.
We were sorry to hear of the death of Phoebe Fields of Cowan. She was 93 years old, and one of the sweetest ‘little ladies’ you could ever meet. Our sympathies to her large family.
Bro. Jamie Niece and Bro. Josh Sturgill and others will be having church at the Cowan Community Center on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday, March 7, 8 and 9. We are so proud of our young preachers. If you’ve never heard them, believe me, you’ve missed something!
I hope the snow is over by then, I sure want to go.
I still haven’t gotten to see my new great-grandson, Daniel Westly Hill, the son of Rocki (Hatton) Hill and Matt Hill. They said he was beautiful, and I knew he would be because all the rest of them are. I promise I’m not exaggerating! They really are. The baby was born Feb. 27.
The weather is supposed to be warm again today, so the snow won’t last. We’ve had a lot of wind. We had fallen tree limbs that had to be cut up, but I’m thankful it wasn’t any worse.
Hello to all my friends who moved away from me. I still think of all of you.
May God bless all of you, and try to be in church somewhere this week.
