Hello everyone, hope you are all doing well and not working too hard.
I have been doing real well and certainly not working as much as I should be. I’ve got lazy and I’m trying to get out of it.
I enjoyed getting out with my sisters Betty Tyree and Judy Green and her grandson Cooper Hatton. He is so cute! We all went to Pizza Hut for lunch and it was so good! I hadn’t been there in years and we had a good time and saw friends there. I even saw my pastor, Bro. John Conn there. I’m always glad to see him.
My son, Rob Hatton, spent the night with me and left to go to the Bristol races with all his brothers. They have been doing that for many years. I’m sure they will have a good time and talk all night at Larry’s camper. It was also Bill’s birthday. I won’t tell how old he is or that would sound like I’m old.
While my sisters Judy and Betty and I were out, we went to Howard’s Carpet to see our brother Charles Howard. There are always people there. Our brother Jack was there and also Elmer Hammonds and also another old friend, Kernie Banks, son of the late Edwin and Katherine Banks. It was so good to see an old Marlowe boy. He also was at the Marlowe reunion we had a few years ago. I put a picture of him in The Mountain Eagle when he was six or seven years old and he remembered it. We love to keep up with our old Marlowe friends. Not many are still with us and we try to keep in touch with them.
It was so good to see him. You never know who will be at Howard’s Carpet store. It’s a gathering place.
I’ve not been getting out much, but I think I will get out more. I’m feeling better.
I hope Bertha (Page) Dye is feeling better. I haven’t heard from her in a while.
I appreciate my sister Joann Brown in Indianapolis, Ind. She calls me every day and I look forward to it.
The Hatton reunion will be the 27th of August. I hope I can get to go. Our Howard family reunion will be Sept. 17 and we will surely miss the ones we’ve lost this year, but they will be in our hearts and minds.
We are having rain today. I hope it’s not raining in Bristol. I’m sure my four sons will still have a good time anyway. I’ll have a lot of stories from all of them.
I did hear from Bertha (Page) Dye. She was doing fine and making kraut. I’m sure it will be good.
I’ve got lazy and don’t do much and really don’t mind. I can always find something to do if I try. I really don’t get bored.
I’m looking forward to seeing my sons. I’m hoping Rob will get to stay a few days with me. He has a pretty busy life.
I hope the Hatton reunion will be good. So many people are sick.
My news is boring. I haven’t heard from many people.
May God bless all of you. Try to be in church somewhere if you are able.
