I have been thankful for phone during snow

Hello everyone. Hope you are all doing well.

Today is Friday and we have snow and I am snowed in. I hope it gets better ‘til I can get this out. If not, it will be next week’s.

I visited with Aggie and Charlie Hatton the other day and I also got to see Effi e and Charles Hatton, who were also visiting there. I was so glad to see them. Effie’s family were Marlowe friends. Her parents were the late Lettie and Elijah Dixon. Whitesburg

I finally got back up to Ermine Center two days. It was good seeing everyone, Martha Davis, Kathy Palumbo, Ruth Gibson, Lizzie Mae Wright, Vina Lucas and Janice Foster.

Thank you, Janice, for the little gift you gave me. It was delicious.

We offer our sympathy to the family of Robert Sexton.

We have lots of sick folks, Anna Lou Combs, Linda Ann Adams and Steve Taylor had surgery. He’s doing OK but they all need everyone’s prayers.

Earl and Juanita Profitt are about the same.

I ran into an old Marlowe friend in Food City the other day, Wilma Wright, the daughter of the late Lora and Gid Brown. We talked and talked. It was good seeing her. We had to get out of everyone’s way so we could talk. I really enjoyed seeing her. It had been a long time since I had seen her. She looked so pretty!

My niece, Margaret (Hatton) Combs, called me and told me her aunt and my friend, Norma ( Vanover) Napier of Seco, had died. She was one of our Marlowe friends. We have lost a lot of them lately.

Margaret said she had a great Christmas. All the family were there. She misses her sister, Sherry (Hatton) Fields, who died recently.

The weather has been bad and I’ve not got to get out much to see everyone. I am thankful for my telephone so I can call and check up on them.

I enjoyed having dinner with Wendy and Kevin Day and their sons Rocky and Larry at the Mexican restaurant on Saturday evening. The place was crowded.

We are supposed to have some more snow tonight.

May God bless all of you. Try to be in church somewhere if the weather permits. I’m hoping the snow misses us.

I talked to my brother Hillard Howard in Florida. They were having cold weather there also.
