Imagination Library expands to Premium

The Imagination Library is coming to Premium. a registration party event will be held Saturday, Sept. 21, from 2 to 4 p.m. at the home of Barbara Ison at 1991 Highway 160, Premium. Signs will be posted. To be eligible to attend and register for the program, children must be under 5 years of age and have a mailing address and 911 address of Premium, KY 41845.

There will be face painting, games with prizes, riding toys, and refreshments. All children registered will receive the free book The Little Engine That Could.

The Imagination Library, founded by country music star Dolly Parton in 1996, provides age appropriate free books each month to children from birth until their fifth birthday regardless of family income.

This is the second expansion of the Imagination Library in the last 30 days. On August 24, the areas of Jenkins 41537, Burdine 41517, Neon 41840, and McRoberts 41835, were added to the service area. The original service area of Whitesburg 41858 was established in January 2012.

To sponsor a child or make a tax-deductible donation to the Imagination Library, make checks payable to Whitesburg Rotary Foundation, Inc., and mail to P.O. Box 406, Whitesburg, KY 41858.
