Indictments name 7




The Letcher County Grand Jury has named seven people in eight indictments, including a woman charged with carrying the narcotic hydrocodone into the Letcher County Jail.

The grand jury says Angela Holbrook, 31, of 1413 Smoot Creek Road, Whitesburg, took eight tablets of hydrocodone into the jail on February 27. She is also charged with being a persistent felony offender.

Letcher County Deputy Jailer Holly Boggs testified in the case.

Also indicted are: • Anthony Collier — criminal endangerment.

The grand jury says Collier, 21, of 81 B. Collier Drive, Whitesburg, damaged the home and property of Ben Gibson on Hwy. 113 near Kona on May 1, 2009 when he lost control of his automobile, drove off the highway, and struck Gibson’s home. He also is charged with creating a danger of death or serious injury to Joseph Childers by causing Childers’s automobile to leave the roadway to avoid a collision, and to Felisha Childers, a passenger in Jo seph Childers’s vehicle.

• Darlene Morton — theft and being a persistent felony offender.

The indictment charges Morton, 44, of 4134 Hwy. 588, Whitesburg, with taking a daily deposit totaling $750 from two businesses owned by Johnny Craft on May 2.

In a separate indictment, she is accused of using a Community Trust Bank debit card without the consent of the card holder, Jessica Combs, for an amount exceeding $100 within the six-month period of October 1, 2008 to April 30, 2009. She is also charged with being a persistent felony offender.

• Carroll Paul Jackson — two counts of wanton endangerment.

The indictment charges Jackson, 30, of 60 Candle Drive, Deane, with driving his automobile across the center line of the highway into the opposite lane into the path of a vehicle driven by Crystal Seals on May 3. He is also accused of endangering Bobbie Seals, who was a passenger in Crystal Seals’s car.

• Jeanette Hollifield — bail jumping.

The indictment charges Hollifield, 29, of 1085 Hwy. 119 N., Whitesburg, also known as Jeanette Halcomb and Jeanette Gibson, with failing to appear at a court hearing in connection with felony charges on January 21.

Letcher Circuit Court Deputy Clerk Sandra Wright testified in the case.

• Bobby Belcher — flagrant non-support.

Belcher, 33, of 109 Morning Glory Lane, McRoberts, is charged with failing to provide support for his minor children for the period ending January 20.

Amy Gosnell of the Letcher County Division of Child Support Enforcement testified in the case.

• Tara Arrowood — flagrant non-support.

Arrowood, 37, of 852 Washington Ave., Orange Park, Fla., is charged with owing $5,960 in child support for the period ending May 21.
