Irene Potter Fields, 87, succumbs

Funeral services for Irene Potter Fields, 87, will be held at 1 p.m. today (Wednesday) at Everidge Funeral Home in Whitesburg. Burial will be in Green Acres Cemetery at Ermine.

Born in Letcher County to the late Forest and Dora Elkins Potter, she died March 4.

She was the widow of John Fields, and a grandmother of the late B.J. Bates. She was also preceded in death by a brother, Ben, and two sisters, Hazel and Astor.

She enjoyed quilting and designing flowers.

Surviving are two sons, Jack Fields of Deane, and Johnny Fields of Gilley; two daughters, Bernice Grubb of Payne Gap and Dora Perry of Seco; two brothers, Dock Potter of Seco and Ernest Potter of Kona; five grandchildren, Donna, Tammy, Chuck, Candie and Amy; 12 great-grandchildren, Brittany, Amber, Megan, Stephanie, Brian, Mike, Blaze, Chris, Gage, Ezra, Griffin, Sloane; and a great-great-grandchild, Delilah.
