Coy W. Ison, 91, died June 30 at the University of Kentucky Hospital in Lexington.
Born in Letcher County, he was a son of the late Kelly and Callie Ison, and the widower of Thelma Hampton Ison.
He was a retired refrigeration technician and was a member of Rocky Branch Baptist Church in Paris.
Surviving are a daughter, Marsha Morris and husband Sam, Lexington; six sons, Gary Ison and wife Sharon and Morrell Ison and wife Teresa, both of Lexington; Wendell Ison and wife Beatrice and Jeffrey Ison and wife Donna, both of Florida; Randy Ison and wife Mary, Ohio; and Dwight Ison and wife Texas, Tennessee; a son-in-law, Glen Collins; 20 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren, and three great-greatgrandchildren; two sisters, Madge Sergent and Oma Fay Bates; and two brothers, Edgar Ison and Komos Ison.
He was preceded in death by a daughter, Dana Collins; four sisters, and two brothers.
Funeral services were held July 3 at Ashland Avenue Baptist Church in Lexington. Burial was in Blue Grass Memorial Gardens.
