Hello everyone, hope everyone is doing well and enjoying this pretty weather while it lasts. It’s almost the middle of November.
I hope the weather will be good for Beau and Lauren’s wedding on Nov. 27 in Bowling Green. There has been a lot going on getting ready. We are all getting ready and looking forward to it. They will be living here close to us and we are glad.
I got a call from J.C. Reynolds in Florida and he says he looks forward to The Mountain Eagle. He asked about my pastor, Bro. John Conn. He said to tell him hello and I did. I was glad to get a call from him. He lived up the road from me and I knew him and his family all their lives. His parents, the late Irene and Joe Reynolds, were well loved by everyone. We always miss Joe on Election Day. He was always there.
I got a call from Vickie Underwood the other day. I’m always glad to hear from her. She lives in Carey, Ohio. She always comes in for the Hatton reunion and she loves The Mountain Eagle.
My sister Joann Brown had a birthday a few days ago. I wish she didn’t live so far away in Indiana. Jobs keep them away, but she has her son Shane and his family there. She works in real estate and does real well selling houses.
Pearl Noble is still really sick. She and her family need a lot of prayer. They are a real loved family, the Nobles and the Penningtons.
I got a call from my sister Joann Brown today. She calls every day and I sure appreciate it. She’s on the road every day on her job, showing houses and selling a lot of them. She’s been doing that a long time.
There seem to be a lot of deer hunters hunting and getting one. I don’t eat them. I like animals too much, I guess.
We are supposed to be getting real cold weather tonight. I hope I can get to church tomorrow. I don’t get out when the roads are bad. We have had some good weather and I’d like to keep it up. We have had great weather.
Shirley Breeding, I want to let you know that was the prettiest card I ever got and I hope I can live up to that. It sounds like I should have sent that to you. You were such a help to me when we were going through such a hard time. I’ll never forget our time together. Everyone needs a friend like you. I wish I could do something for you. I really love you. I hope you are doing well.
I miss my two sisters so bad! It seems like a bad dream and I want to wake up. It still doesn’t feel like it’s true ‘til I want to visit them.
My roses are still in full bloom. I hate to see them go. It’s supposed to get real cold tonight. I hope that’s wrong, but it is still winter!
I was pleased to get a call from Mary J. “Jewel” Adams last night. We started first grade in school at Blackey and we’ve been friends ever since. She was married to my cousin, the late Guy Palumbo, and she lives in Florida. We have a lot to talk about. We know all the same people of Blackey and Whitesburg, and we talk about all of them. Many of them are no longer with us and we miss them.
Well, it’s Sunday school time and I better get going. May God bless all of you. Try to be in church somewhere if you are able.
