Jack Hurst, 77, died March 19 at his home at Jenkins.
Born in Pike County, he was a son of the late William and Maggie Wright Hurst, and served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War.
He was a brother of the late James Kenneth Hurst, and had worked as a heavy equipment operator in the coal industry.
Surviving are his wife, Elaine Joyce Herrin-Hurst; a son, Kenneth Ray Hurst of Jenkins; a sister, Mary Ann Hurst of North Carolina; a brother, Danny Dale Hurst of Jenkins; and two grandchildren.
His ashes will be spread at the Dunham Cemetery at Jenkins at a later date.
