Funeral services for Jack Stallard, 83, will be held at 10:30 a.m. today (Wednesday) at Everidge Funeral Home in Whitesburg. Burial will follow in the Whitaker Cemetery at Seco.
Born in Letcher County to the late John M. and Laura Jane Bentley Stallard, he was the widower of Bonnie Vance Stallard. He died July 19 at Countryside Manor Nursing Home in Aviston, Ill..
He was a U.S. Air Force veteran of the Korean War, and was a member of Millstone Missionary Baptist Church.
A 1950 graduate of Fleming Neon High School, he was a member of Lonesome Pine Masonic Lodge #884, the Shriners Murat Temple in Indiana, and the York Rite and Scottish Rite.
Surviving are a son, Jack M. Stallard III and wife Kathleen of Cincinnati, Oh.; a daughter, Jane B. Stallard and Steve Kunz of Summerfield, Ill.; a sister, Alice Jane Dalton of Knoxville, Tenn.; and two grandchildren, Austin Alexandria and Laura Moran Newton.
