A Jackhorn man remains in the Letcher County Jail after being arrested on drugrelated charges April 22.
While executing a search warrant at Lawson Sexton’s home located at 2942 Highway 317, the Letcher County Sheriff ’s Department recovered some money used during a sheriff ’s investigation to purchase controlled substances. A police scanner was also taken from Sexton’s home.
Sexton, 69, was charged with second-degree traffi cking in a controlled substance. He was still being held in the county jail Tuesday, where bond was set at $10,000 cash.
The Appalachian High Intensity Drug Trafficking Area Task Force (HIDTA) helped with the probe.
Sexton was indicted last year on three counts of trafficking in a controlled substance and trafficking in marijuana. In that case Sexton is charged in two indictments with trafficking in oxycodone, hydrocodone and marijuana to a cooperating witness of the Letcher County Sheriff ’s Department, the Kentucky State Police and HIDTA on July 8, 2010.
“We had continued to receive complaints of drug trafficking,” said Sheriff ’s Lt. Brian Damron.
