James Critt Gose buried at Mayking




James Critt Gose of Mayking, died January 25 at Whitesburg Appalachian Regional Hospital. He was 53 years old.

Born in Pikeville, he was a son of the late James Edward and Carlene Webb Gose and the father of the late Jessica Nicole Gose.

Gose was a graduate of Whitesburg High School where he excelled in athletics. He attended Morehead State University and was graduated from the Department of Labor Mine Safety and Health Administration school in Beaver, W.Va. He worked in the aerospace industry in Savannah, Ga., and in coal mining and as a mine inspector. He belong to the Whitesburg Baptist Church for 36 years.

Surviving are his wife, Olivia June Gose; a son, Michael Ray Hall, Mayking; two daughters, Sherri Delynn Banks, Whitesburg, and Carlenia Irene Gose, Mayking; two brothers, Joe Pat Gose and Jeff Curt Gose, both of Mayking; two sisters, Karen G. Hunsucker, Lexington, and Kaye G. Cook, Kona; and three aunts, LaRue W. Compton, Irene W. Cook, and Lucy A. Horton, all of Savannah, Ga.

Funeral services for James Critt Gose, 53, were held January 28 at the First Baptist Church in Whitesburg. Burial was in the Webb Cemetery at Mayking.

Everidge Funeral Home had charge of arrangements.
