James Davis dies in Indiana

JAMES N. DAVIS

James N. ‘Jim’ Davis, died June 28 at Columbus Regional Hospital in Columbus, Ind.

Previously employed at Cosco, Jim retired from Cummins Engine Company in 1998 as an account representative. His hobby was restoring old cars.

Funeral services were held July 3 in Columbus. Burial was at Garland Brook Cemetery.

Born in Roxana, he was the son of the late Thurston and Maxie Whitaker Davis.

Surviving are his wife, Oveta Frazier Davis; two sons, Mark Davis of Westport, Ind., and Greg Davis and wife Anna of Westport, Ind.; a daughter, Kim Thomas and husband Dave of North Vernon, Ind.; grandchildren, Justin Davis, Chelsea Davis-Douthitt, Jared Thomas and Zach Thomas; great-grandchildren, Aiden, Caedie Lynn and Devon Michael; a brother, Tom Davis and wife Donna of Columbus, Ind.; and sisters, Merlene Day and husband Doyle of Roxana, Jo Wanda Day and husband Jim of Beaver Creek, Ohio, Elaine Moore of Richmond, and Brenda Bradley and husband Dallas of Nicholasville.
