Hard to believe that February is here already. Such a mild winter. So glad for that, though it’s probably not over yet.
Dwight Harvey had gallbladder surgery Jan. 26. He had lots of infection. He is home now but still needs our prayers. His mom Sue Redford Harvey and his dad Ken Harvey wanted to wish him a happy birthday on Jan. 29. He turned 35.
My husband James will turn 65 on Feb. 14, my favorite Valentine.
Greg Dollarhide will turn 16 on Feb. 14; Phyllis Ann Fields (James’s niece) will be 48 on Feb. 15.
Also celebrating on Feb. 17 will be Wissy Caudill and Leroy Fields. I hope they have a good day.
I was so sorry to hear that Muncy Huff from Neon died last week. He was the son of the late Lloyd Huff. His mother, Easter (Dixon) Huff, still lives at Neon. Our sympathy goes out to all his family. He was buried at Kingdom Come beside his dad. He was in his 50’s. His brother, Truman, and Archie and Maynard and Allie Fay live on Cowan so we feel your loss. Big Cowan
Verda Mae Sturgill (his sister) lives on Linefork. I think Darrell and Roy Lee and Lois live at Neon. I’m not sure where Macy lives, but all of you are in my thoughts. I think of the times we came to Virginia to play with all you kids while Mom and Dad and your grandparents, Emily and Eli Dixon, visited with your mom and dad. Such good times. I didn’t know about Muncy’s death until the day of his funeral or I would have come to the visitation.
Juanita Fields Smith had gallbladder surgery on Tuesday, Feb. 2. I hope she did okay.
I have had a swollen jaw for over a week. I’m not sure if it is an abscessed tooth, but it sure has been a lot of pain. It feels like I had the mumps. I could not afford to go to the dentist or doctor at the end of the month, and no insurance, so I have been taking extra strength Tylenol to ease the pain, along with Orajel and compresses.
It looks like Hager Trent and I had been in a fight as both of us woke up on the same day with swollen jaws. Ha! I thought maybe it was another virus going on.
Christy Polly has been real sick. Please pray for her. Also in prayers: Charles Large; Guy Stewart; Martha Landers; Arnie Hall; Janice Tolliver’s sister, who was in a car wreck in Kingsport, Tenn. on Saturday night and has several broken bones; Tommy and Janice Tolliver; Ashley, Rebecca and Michaela Fields; Chad and Amber Fields; Bill and Agnes Maggard; Charles and Audrey Hammonds; Hazel Rayburn; Mike Rayburn and Bill King.
Pray for everyone. Have a good week. Remember the homeless, shut-ins, and attend the church of your choice.
May God bless each and every one.
