James Hall succumbs at 93

Funeral services for James Hall, 93, were held April 16 at Everidge Funeral Home in Whitesburg. Burial was in Green Acres Memorial Park at Ermine.

Born in Knott County to the late Bascum and Polly Ann Vance Hall, he died April 15 at Whitesburg Appalachian Regional Hospital.

Mr. Hall was the widower of Barbara Ann Hall, and was later married to Sarah Marie Hall, who also preceded him in death.

He enjoyed hunting ginseng with a friend, Pat Sexton, and enjoyed playing corn hole at the Senior Citizen Center.

Surviving are a son, Gregory Hall and wife Paula of Pickney, Mich.; two sisters, Gyrtle June “Gyrt” Cook of Whitesburg, and Betty Lou Boynton of Martinsville, W.Va.; four grandchildren, Jamie, Jessica, Jacob and Jenna; and three great-grandchildren, Ariana, Mason, and Dante.

Mr. Hall was preceded in death by six siblings, Harold Hall, Delmer Hall, Billy Hall, John Edison Hall, Mary Rose Stephens, and Charma Sue McLin.
