Janice Galloway, 74, died December 22, at Letcher Manor Nursing Home in Whitesburg.
Born at Cowan to the late Eckie and Edith Frazier Kimberlin, she was the widow of Estill Galloway and was also preceded in death by a stepdaughter, Elizabeth.
Mrs. Galloway was retired after 15 years as a schoolteacher with the Letcher County School System, and was an ECCO Center volunteer.
She was treasurer of the Letcher County Homeless Shelter, and was a member of the Partridge Lions Club and Blair Chapel Church.
Surviving are two sisters, Jane Cornett of Whitesburg and Lisa Howard and husband Allen of Lexington; three stepchildren, Jenny, Gail, Doris, and Sue; a grandson, Norman Collins; and numerous grandchildren and great- grandchildren.
A memorial service will be announced at a later date.
