Jenkins boys get win

Payton Rose and Jeremy Potter each scored 18 points to lead the Jenkins Cavaliers to a 60 to 52 win over June Buchanan.

In defeating the Crusaders on Feb. 5 for their first win of the 2019-20 season, the Cavaliers also avenged a 93 to 67 loss at June Buchanan on January 13 that gave the Crusaders what also remains their only win of the current campaign.

Jenkins also got scoring from Anthony Newman (8 points), Austin Johnson (7 points), John Bentley (5 points), and Keegan Bentley (4 points).

The Cavaliers, who now stand at 1-18 after losses to Shelby Valley on Feb. 7 (72 to 36) and Rye Cove, Va., on Monday (58 to 54), are scheduled to play at home for their final five games of the regular season.

After a visit to Letcher County Central tonight (Feb. 12), the Cavs will host Magoffin County on Feb. 13, Oneida Baptist on Feb. 15, Floyd Central on Feb. 17, Letcher County Central on Feb. 19, and Lee County on Feb. 21.

Starting times for all games besides Oneida Baptist is 7:30 p.m. The Oneida Baptist tilt starts at 1 p.m.
