Jenkins man pleads guilty to drug charge




A Jenkins man charged with trafficking in a controlled substance was sentenced to probation and home incarceration.

Letcher Circuit Judge Sam Wright sentenced Michael Wayne Hayes, 26, of 96 Number 3 Hill, Jenkins, to five years supervised probation on June 14 in Letcher Circuit Court. Wright also ordered Hayes, who was represented in court by James W. Craft II, to serve 180 days home incarceration.

Hayes has served two days in jail prior to sentencing.

Hayes has been ordered to pay $250 in restitution to Kentucky State Police Post 13 in Hazard. He is to pay $130 in court costs, $10 in monthly drug testing fees and $15 in monthly supervision fees.

Hayes sold 10 or more oxycodone pills to a cooperating witness of the Kentucky State Police on June 17, 2011.
