The high-scoring Jenkins Lady Cavaliers (9-1) took only three innings to defeat homestanding June Buchanan on April 3, 19-1.
In the first inning, Jenkins put three runs on the board with two hits. June Buchanan came back with a single run on a wild pitch and a passed ball.
In the second inning, Jenkins added nine runs on eight hits, and in the third inning the Lady Cavs scored seven more runs on five hits, giving them 19 runs on 15 hits.
Caitlynn Estevez pitched a one-hit game, notching eight strikeouts. Whitney Creech knocked three hits in three plate appearances. Melissa Bartley and McKenzie Gibson each went two for two at the plate; Lexi Stambaugh and Caitlynn Estevez each went two for three.

The Jenkins Lady Cavs hosted Knott County Central on March 31. In the first inning, Lexi Stambaugh was hit by a pitch and later got in a rundown after Whitney Creech drew a walk and Mercedes Boggs hit a single.
After Charity Niece singled to score Creech and Boggs, Niece came home on a throwing error to make the score 3-0 for the Lady Cavs at the end of the first inning.
In the third inning, Whitney Creech hit a oneout triple, followed by Mercedes Boggs’s sacrifice fly to make the score 4-0.
In the fourth inning, McKenzie Gibson was hit by a pitch, Taylor Johnson reached base on an error, and Makayla Seals doubled to center to score Gibson. Melissa Bartley hit a fielder’s choice to score Johnson and give the Lady Cavs a 6-0 lead.
In the sixth inning, Gibson led off with a single followed by a single from Johnson. Seals reached base on a fielder’s choice before Bartley hit a double to score Johnson. Whitney Creech then reached first base on a throwing error to score Seals and make the final score 8-0.
Pitcher Caitlynn Estevez picked up the win on a two-hitter while collecting 10 strikeouts. Jenkins had eight runs on eight hits.

Jenkins hosted the Cordia Lady Lions for a doubleheader on April 1. The Lady Cavs won both games, 21-0 and 19-0.
In the first game, the Lady Cavs sent 22 batters to the plate, scoring 17 runs on nine hits. In the second inning, Jenkins scored four runs on four hits. Melissa Bartley and Charity Niece each had home runs.
In the second game, Jenkins sent 24 batters to the plate, scoring 19 runs on nine hits, including a Lexi Stambaugh home run.
Caitlynn Estevez pitched two no hitters with 10 strikeouts.
