To the Editor:
On behalf of the Jenkins Post Office and our employees, I’d like to thank Jenkins Mayor Todd Depriest and the Jenkins Fire Department for offering space to us during the recent floods when we were forced to evacuate our facility. Because of their quick response and generosity, we were able to provide mail delivery to many of our customers. Mayor Depriest and the Fire Department certainly have found a new way to dedicate themselves to the community.
We are also indebted to Pine Mountain Stone who, along with the Fire Department, provided equipment to pump water out of the post office basement. With their assistance, we were able to return to normal operations in record time.
We are so fortunate to live and work in a city that truly knows how to care for each other. The Jenkins Post Office looks forward to many years of continued service in this community.
