Jenkins Independent schools will host a community gathering on Friday, November 12, at the Jenkins Middle High School Campus at 5:30 p.m. Prior to the events of the evening, each campus, Burdine, McRoberts, and the Middle High School, will host an open house for parents to visit teachers and pick up student report cards as well as their test scores. Open house at each location will take place from 3:30 to 5 p.m.
The evening activities, beginning at 5:30 p.m. at the middle high school, will include:
• General welcome and recognition of Jenkins Independent School students receiving proficient and distinguished awards for their performance on the 2009 Kentucky Core Content Test by the Superintendent of Jenkins School District Debra Watts.
• Presentations by faculty of Professional Learning Communities committed to school improvement.
• Introduction of athletic teams and coaches by Larry Maggard, athletic director.
• Complimentary chili dinner for all attending.
