Job fair set in Hazard

Sutherland CloudSource will launch a new hiring drive to find additional customer service representatives for the 1-800-Flowers company at a job fair on Jan. 14 in Hazard.

The job fair will be held from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at 412 Roy Campbell Drive, Hazard. The event will feature a live teleconference with company officials, after which Teleworks USA staff will help people submit their online application for employment.

The job fair is a component of Teleworks USA’s ongoing telework jobs partnership with Sutherland CloudSource, which is seeking consultants for the upcoming holiday season. These positions can be performed either from a home office with a suitable broadband Internet connection and appropriate computer equipment, or at Teleworks USA’s current Teleworks Hubs in Hazard. Though the positions will begin as seasonal work, they may transition into full-time positions based on performance and company demand.

Job duties of a telework consultant include processing orders, verifying customer information, documenting actions taken with customers’ accounts, assisting customers in product and gift selection and participating in ongoing training sessions.

Positions start at $9 an hour. Qualified candidates should be highly PC literate, have the ability to type between 20 and 25 words per minute, and be 18 years of age or older. Previous call center or work-at-home experience is a plus.

The Jan. 14 events represent the second round of job fairs hosted by Southerland CloudSource in eastern Kentucky in partnership with Teleworks USA.

Seating at the job fair will be limited, so pre-register today by calling or emailing Teresa Hylton at thylton@teleworksusa.org or at (606)-435-7798.
