John Ray Gibson, 75, succumbs



John Ray Gibson, 75, died July 14 at his home on Sandlick.

A son of Mary Gibson of Isom and the late William Buster Gibson, he was a member of the G. Bennett Adams Church for 27 years.

Surviving in addition to his mother are his wife, Ruth Frazier Gibson; six brothers, Luther Gibson and wife Lena of Doty, Walden Gibson and wife Ilene of Knott County; Winston Gibson and wife Cleta, Boyd Gibson and wife Susie, and Tommy Gibson and wife Debbie, all of Isom, and Clarence Gibson and wife Roma of Kingscreek; four sisters, Goldie Tyree and husband Clyde Roger of Smoot Creek, Pattie Gentry and husband Doug of Manchester, Ruth Madden and husband Rocky of Isom, and Wanda Fay Fields and husband James of Berea.

Funeral services for Gibson were held July 18 at G. Bennett Adams Church. Burial was in Frazier Cemetery at Premium.

Letcher Funeral Home of Whitesburg had charge of the arrangements.
