Kathy Wolfe celebrating 56th birthday

Big Cowan

Well, school should be started back by now, so watch out for all the excited kids. Be really careful when driving.

My great-nephew, little Marty, and Paige are looking forward to kindergarten and riding the big, yellow school bus.

Today, Aug. 12, is my sister, Kathy Wolfe’s birthday. She is 56 years old. May she have a good one, and God bless her. She is about to catch up with me.

Eddie and Kathy have been having work done on their house. It’s looking really good. It’s painted a light green with a dark green metal roof, has new windows and two new porches. They will be getting a heat pump soon. It looks like a new house.

Tommy Fields is having a room built on his home and two new porches. It’s looking good, Tommy.

Also Cassell and Opal Boggs put a new porch and roof on their home, and it really looks good.

I hope all of you enjoy the new look.

Our sympathy goes out to Freddie Frazier and his family. His wife Cheryl Kay Frazier died Aug. 1 in Lexington. She was 56 years old. She is survived by her husband, a son, William Frazier of Cowan, a daughter Christa Causey of Louisville, Ohio, and two grandchildren, David Causey of Louisville, Ohio and Seth Frazier of Colson.

The funeral was at Everidge Funeral Home on Aug. 6, with Jimmy Hall officiating, and burial was in the Frazier Cemetery on Cowan. She was a member of the Old Regular Baptist Church and will be missed by many.

Please pray for the Polly family of Craft’s Colly, as they are going through their biggest trial at this time. They need everyone’s support and prayers.

Aug. 9, Destiny Maggard turned 7 years old. A late happy birthday, sweetie, and I hope you had a good one. She is the daughter of Carla and Tony Maggard, and the granddaughter of Mary Ann Maggard and the late Curtis Maggard.

Archie Joe Maggard was home in Columbus, Ind., from Texas, to visit with his parents, Bill and Agnes Maggard. He will be leaving for Afghanistan in October. Keep him and all of our service men and women in your prayers. I love you, Archie Joe. We will miss you while you’re gone. May God bless you.

Audrey Hammonds is having trouble breathing. Keep her in your prayers.

Pamela Sue Fields was married to Jadwyn Lean Creech on Aug. 8 at 10 a.m. by the Rev. Randy Thieman at Versailles, Ind. She is the daughter of Archie and Margaret Fields of Cowan, and Lucille Collins Fields of Newpoint, Ind. Good luck to both of you.

Our sympathy goes out to Shelby (Thomas) Bockover. Her husband, Bobby Bockover, died Aug. 9 at Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis. He had a massive heart attack and a stroke a few weeks ago, and had been in a coma.

He is survived by Shelby, three sons, Bob Jr., Bruce and Tommy, and two daughter-in-laws, and grandchildren. Funeral services will be held todday (Wednesday) in Greensburg, Ind.

Everyone be good to each other this week. Attend the church of your choice and keep everyone in your prayers.

I love each and every one of you, but God loves you more.

A big hello to Matthew E. Eldridge and to his wife, and also to the rest of the readers.

Have a good week.
