KATIE RUTH PASS

Katie Ruth Mullins Pass, 97, of Winchester, died December 2 at Windsor Hospice Care Center in Mount Sterling.

A daughter of the late John and Sophie Bowers Mullins, she was born in Stonega, Va. She was the widow Ted Pass, to whom she’d been married 51 years.

Mrs. Mullins was graduated from Jenkins High School in 1942, had worked at Banks’s Grocery Store, and was a substitute teacher at Burdine Elementary and Jenkins High School.

She was member of the Burdine Church of God of Prophecy and the Cathedral Church of God in Winchester.

In addition to her parents and husband, Mrs. Mullins was preceded in death by her two brothers, John “Bud” Mullins and Bobby Gene Mullins, and her five sisters, Ann Mullins, Juanita Haley, Jerry Belcher, Marie Looney and Frances Jo Spicer.

Surviving are a son, Ted Pass II and wife Ginny Kay of Morehead; a daughter, Teresa Ann Hibbitts and husband Gary of Winchester; four grandchildren, Michele Hibbitts Ramey and husband Rich of Winchester, Gary Neil Hibbitts and Rich of Lexington, Kristen Leigh Pass and husband Roger of Morehead, and Michael Ted Pass and wife Michelle of Stephenson, Va.; three great-grandchildren Rachel Sophia Banks “Tori”, Cody Lee Collins, and Dylan Michael Pass; a great-great-grandchild, Rowen Scott Banks; and special nieces, Mickey Bell and Kim Spicer.

Graveside services were conducted at the Powell Valley Memorial Gardens on Saturday, December 4, in Powell Valley, Va.

Baker Funeral Home in Pound, Va. had charge of arrangements.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial donations be made to St. Claire Hospice, 222 Medical Circle, Morehead, KY 40351.
