Dawson Creek will be at Hemphill Community Center this Friday night. They are a really good band and everyone enjoys themselves when these guys are in the house.
Bruce and Linda Sturgill and granddaughter Jade Cook enjoyed a few days at their camper in Pigeon Forge. Jade has a lot of friends there. They went to a few shows.
Maxine got a good report from the doctor. She is anxiously awaiting the birth of a grandson. Krystal, Jack and Jessie are so excited. A baby shower was held in Krystal’s honor on Saturday and she received so many beautiful things for baby, Jaxson.
Jack Quillen had a birthday on Mother’s Day and he doesn’t look his age. Also having their big day this week were Jackie Fields and my brother, Warren Douglas. May they all have many more. Jackie Fields is still driving his racecar.
Sympathy to the families of Melanie Cooper Blair, Ford Honeycutt, Cleve Collier, Glenn Potter and Bonnie Craft. So much sadness.
Clester came through his surgery on Friday in Lexington and is so happy to be back home. He had his thyroid, lymph nodes and a nodule removed. We are praying no more cancer. He has been through so much.
Our son Randy was here for a few days; he drove us to Richmond and Lexington. Our daughter Sharon drove us home on Saturday. She spent the night and returned home on Sunday morning. We got to see all of our babies while there.
My brother Warren came by the hospital on Friday. Coolie and Janice went with us and came home on Friday night.
What would we do if we didn’t have our family? Thanks for all the calls and especially the prayers.
Our great-granddaughter Rylee Elizabeth Holbrook is now going into first grade. Her school had a special celebration on Friday evening, and the children shared what they had learned and did a great job.
Also having a celebration were Kaylee Baker and Brooklynn Lucas. They are our great-nieces and we are so proud of them.
Anna Belle Wright has once again danced the shoes right off her feet. You go, girlfriend!
I met two lovely ladies last week, Myrtle Ihrig and Mavis Baker. Mavis was visiting her sister Myrtle and doing some research on their families. I hope they found the graves they were looking for. Come back real soon.
I knew their brother, Paul Stewart. He and I did genealogy together many times and he knew so much about so many of our families.
Thank you, Ricky and Phyllis Yonts, for the oranges, strawberries and another mess of plantain. Good food from good neighbors. Love you both.
Gravesite memorial services were held for Lenville “Buddy” Hatton with family and friends. May God bless his wife Billie and his children, grandchildren, brothers and sisters. He sure will be missed. We love all of you.
Prayers for Eugene Hall, who is in a hospital in Tennessee. His son Jeff and daughter Ann are in our prayers. I know Mother’s Day was especially hard for them for they just lost their mom, Norma Jean.
