Kids visit farm to pick out pumpkins

It was a very rainy week, however we needed it.

The kids went back to school on Oct. 15 after a two-week break. On Oct. 25, the kindergarten went to see a play at the Derby Dinner Playhouse in Lexington and on Oct. 29 the fouryear old program were scheduled to visit the pumpkin farm and see some animals and pick out a pumpkin.

It has been a very busy time. I apologize for missing news again.

I am now, along with everything else that I’ve been doing, working with the Girl Scouts as a Brownie troop leader.

Happy birthday on Oct. 30 to my grandpa, Tate Hampton of Eolia, to Julie Bradford, Bardstown, on Oct. 26.

All the kids are excited about Halloween. They’ve picked out their costumes and we’ve decided which houses we’re going to visit for treats. It’s pretty easy to just walk to five or six houses on our street where we know the people.

I have more fun when I get back home and give the kids their candies that they can have and then I get to see the kids dressed up coming to our house. I have always enjoyed it, although I don’t consider it a holiday. It seems if they could, the stores would make Saturdays a celebration because it’s a weekend. The calendars certainly look a lot different than when i was a kid.

Looks like it is supposed to start getting rather cold. We were showing a low of 39 for Sunday night and no end to our rain until possibly Monday. I guess it’s the end of our sunny days.

Looks like that’s the news for this week.
