Kindergarten plans graduation ceremony

Bardstown

It looks like spring is officially here. We’ve finally hit the 80s after a few days of temperatures dropping back into the 40s and 50s.

School will be extended until June 9 to make up days missed during the ice storm.

Bardstown Primary School’s kindergarten class will have a “red carpet night” on June 8. It’s very exclusive by invitation only for the student and two adult guests. It is kindergarten graduation.

Bardstown High School’s graduation is June 10, and the Bardstown Middle School’s eighth grade promotion will be June 9 at 10 a.m.

St. Gregory’s eighth grade graduation was May 28.

The kids are getting excited about the upcoming end-of-the-school-year activities. They’re enjoying the sunny days playing in the yard as well.

My own kids have been spending time with their friends in the apartment complex as we have been packing to move into a house on the other side of town. They’re glad they’ll be attending the same school and excited about having a backyard to play in.

Prayers are requested for the family of Eddie Avery. He died very early in the morning on May 26. He was the brother of my friends, Kathy Beavers and June Clark. Kathy and June spent the rest of the week in Shepherdsville and attended the funeral services on May 28. Eddie had been diagnosed with leukemia several months ago. Eddie was 58 years old.

Also on a sad note, last week 28-year-old Tim Frazier and his 21-monthold son, Cole, were found dead in their home in what cops called a murder-suicide as a result of a custody battle.

In lighter news, Gallagher is going to be performing on June 25 in the ‘Live at the Park’ event. I’ll report more on this as there will be two other musicians performing during this series.

Happy birthday wishes go out to June Clark who will celebrate June 9. Happy anniversary to Tate and Inez Hampton on June 15, and their son Corbin and his wife, Kim, also on June 15.

Prayer requests this week include Jim Hardesty, June Clark, Sandra Goatley, Judy Branham, Inez Hampton, Hassell Hampton Sr., Jeff Lester Sr., Bernard Rayburn, Steve Hardin, Bo Hardin, and Angie Newton.
